Privacy Policy
Sortie! (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a daily trivia challenge at dailysortie.com. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account info. If you sign up, we collect the callsign you choose and a password. No e-mail address is required. Passwords are securely handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. We do not store passwords in plain text.
- Gameplay data. Scores, flight distance, and related game stats associated with your session or account.
- Guest / anonymous play. You can play without an account using a temporary anonymous session.
- Device storage. We store some game progress and preferences in your browser’s local storage.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand page visits and how the game is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and sends usage data, such as pages viewed and general device and location information, to Google. These statistics tools load only after you allow statistics cookies.
- Advertising. We use Ezoic to show ads. Ezoic and its partners may use marketing cookies. Ads and those cookies load only after you allow marketing cookies.

- To understand how the game is used and improve it

Public information
Callsigns and leaderboard scores for signed-in pilots are publicly visible. Do not choose a callsign you do not want others to see.
Third-party services
We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting, Vercel for hosting and analytics, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for usage measurement, Ezoic to show ads, and Cookiebot to manage and store your cookie preferences. These providers may process data on our behalf to deliver their services, subject to applicable agreements and privacy requirements. Their own privacy policies provide further information about their data practices.
Cookies
We use a Cookiebot consent banner to manage cookie preferences. Necessary cookies and browser storage keep the site and game functioning, including sign-in and saved game progress, and cannot be disabled through the consent banner. Statistics cookies, including those used by Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, are optional. Marketing cookies, including those used by Ezoic to show ads, are optional. Optional cookies are used only after you allow that category. You can accept or reject them in the banner and change your choice later.
Ezoic Services
This website uses the services of Ezoic Inc. (“Ezoic”), including to manage third-party interest-based advertising. Ezoic may employ a variety of technologies on this website, including tools to serve content, display advertisements and enable advertising to visitors of this website, which may utilize first and third-party cookies.
A cookie is a small text file sent to your device by a web server that enables the website to remember information about your browsing activity. First-party cookies are created by the site you are visiting, while third-party cookies are set by domains other than the one you're visiting. Ezoic and our partners may place third-party cookies, tags, beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to monitor interactions with advertisements and optimize ad targeting. Please note that disabling cookies may limit access to certain content and features on the website, and rejecting cookies does not eliminate advertisements but will result in non-personalized advertising. - Email (in a hashed or encrypted form)
Ezoic and its partners may use this data in combination with information that has been independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements across various platforms and websites. Ezoic’s partners may also gather additional data, such as unique IDs, advertising IDs, geolocation data, usage data, device information, traffic data, referral sources, and interactions between users and websites or advertisements, to create audience segments for targeted advertising across different devices, browsers, and apps. Data retention and deletion
We retain account and gameplay information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the game and maintain features such as leaderboards and statistics.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at contact@dailysortie.com. We will delete or anonymize information associated with your account where reasonably possible, subject to information we may need to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Sortie! is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@dailysortie.com.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
